The car was bought new from the factory by a Swiss driver who raced the car for 3-4 races and then crashed the car at Hockenhiem in 1970, the car caught fire and was rebuilt as a B19. There are FIA documents from 1971 detailing the rebuild with reference to the damaged car and the original owner will verify the provenance. The car was then sold to another German driver who then sold it to the current owner, so the history is complete and undisputed. The car has been raced extensively in the US and has recently competed in the presigious Palm Beach event. The car has a BDG fitted (spec not known) and is still in B19 configuration. Conversion back to B16 is straightforward.
