This Group C Porsche 962-130C went on to take 2nd overall in the 24 hour classic; this was the start of a successful racing career for the car until the end of 1989 when it was effectively retired. Oakfields purchased the car in 2000 and used it regularly in the European GrC championship with its best result a 2nd Overall at Silverstone in the Empire trophy. The car was then repainted still in its original colours and livery and given some sympathetic minor restoration. This car is probably the most original 962 available today.

The car is almost identical to the Lola T282 long distance sports car, but with the lighter components (suspension, transmission, etc) making it ideal for todays historic events. The car has an unbroken history documented provenence and actual LeMans history. This car would be a outright winner in WSM, Supersports or LMES. The condition is excellent, and whilst totally original does not require any major restoration. There is a choice of engines available to suit the chosen race series.
